Brought to you by the Winnebago, Boone, Lee & Ogle County Local Emergency Planning Committees in conjunction with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

WHAT
The Winnebago County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) presents the 21st Annual Midwest Emergency Preparedness and Response Conference (MEPRC). Also featured, at no additional cost, is an eight-hour USDOL/OSHA, 29 CFR §1910.120 “Hazwoper” Refresher Training.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Those who would benefit include: Employees of industries subject to SARA Title III and Clean Air Act Section 112R, Hazardous Materials Handlers, Emergency Response Clean-up Personnel, Health Departments, Emergency Responders, Police and Fire Service, Emergency Planners, Education / Security professionals, citizen groups and Local Emergency Planning Committee members plus anyone wanting to take the USDOL/OSHA 29 CFR §1910.120 “Hazwoper” Annual Refresher training.

WHAT YOU GET
Your registration fee provides admission to all sessions each day and includes any demonstrations as well as breakfast and lunch on May 8th along with breakfast on May 9th. You must register before being admitted to any Midwest Emergency Preparedness and Response Conference (MEPRC) function, and entry to the event will only be permitted by having/displaying an MEPRC badge.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The goal of this conference is draw from the expertise of local, national, and international experts to provide attendees with practical, timely, and relevant information that can be applied to their daily lives, both professional and private.  This year our conference Keynote will look at 3D and Virtual Reality training for hazardous materials response at a rail incident.

Other topics include:

           Civil Air Patrol - Capabilities during a disaster response

           Media Collaboration – Working with the Media during a response

           Mental Health First Aid – Yow may know CPR, you can call 911. But can you administer First Aid in a mental health crisis?

           Anatomy of an evacuation - Long Term Care facility

           Waterway Spill Response – EPA perspective

           Responding to a potential Cyanide incident – Fire Department and Hazmat Response

           Safe Storage of Ammonia, Pesticides & Fertilizer – Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association

 As always, the conference includes, as a concurrent Wednesday afternoon session,  the 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher course for no additional charge.  The conference concludes on day two with a 4-hour table top drill to provide the required exercise of LEPC response plans.  The meet and greet at the end of day one is the place to relax and socialize after a full day of learning.  Make plans now to attend.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND FEE
The conference early registration fee for the day and a half event is $125.00 per person before April 19, 2019. Thereafter late registration is $145.00. Please register early. Payment by credit card through PayPal can be completed by online registration at www.winn-lepc.org. Online registration is preferred. For registration by mail, please complete the attached registration form and mail with full payment to Winnebago County LEPC, 650 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102.
